Etching, 263 x 198 mm at the borderline. Bellini 19, 2d state (of 2), Illustrated Bartsch 11 (15, 2d state of 2).

Fine impression on laid paper, trimmed on or 1 mm outside the platemark on three sides, trimmed inside the platemark, at the bottom, in the blank: the height of the lower margin is only 19 mm instead of 35 mm (sheet: 282 x 199 mm).

Impression in very good condition. Some very pale surface dirt, two small unobtrusive creases across the upper right corner,  tiny shred missing from angles of upper left and lower right corners, three tiny ink stains (one on the veil of the Virgin). Slight skinning of paper in two corners on the back. Annotated af in pen and ink in the lower right margin and 1070 on the back.

Origin: Richard Houlditch [junior] (died 1760): his stamp in the lower left margin (Lugt 2214). According to Lugt, a number is often written in pen and ink on the works belonging to this collection: on this print, it is written on the back (1070).
